Does the Voron Voron Trident 3D printer work with SimplyPrint, OctoPrint, Mainsail and Fluidd?
Each way of connecting it, what it needs, and how to set it up.
Connected through Klipper (Moonraker), SimplyPrint supports most of what it offers on the Voron Voron Trident: the camera and AI failure detection, remote printing, skipping objects, temperature and movement control, filament mapping for its multi-material unit and AutoPrint. What slicer to use for the Voron Voron Trident
Use PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer, BambuStudio, ElegooSlicer, CrealityPrint, or Cura: each has a ready-made profile for the Voron Voron Trident.
We only list slicers you can use in the SimplyPrint cloud, so there may be others for the Voron Voron Trident.
Cloud-Based Slicer for Voron Voron Trident: Use PrusaSlicer Online
Use PrusaSlicer and other slicers - directly in your browser with SimplyPrint's online cloud slicer. No installation required. Slice your Voron Voron Trident models from any device, anywhere in the world!
Automatic Profile Updates: Profiles are automatically checked and fetched from the slicer GitHub repositories every day, as well as from our own open-source community-driven slicer profile database. This ensures you always have access to the latest profiles.
Note: Other slicers, such as Simplify3D, ideaMaker, SuperSlicer and KISSlicer, aren't in our cloud, so we don't track their profiles. They may still work well with your Voron Voron Trident: check the slicer's own documentation or forums for a profile. You can also contribute profiles to our open-source slicer profile database on GitHub.
The app for the Voron Voron Trident
SimplyPrint works as the Voron Voron Trident's app: on your phone and in any browser, with a slicer in the cloud.
There's no plate swapper or auto-ejection kit for the Voron Voron Trident in SimplyPrint yet, but AutoPrint can still keep it printing: once the plate is clear, it starts the next job from your queue.
Enclosed printers push their prints out
The Voron Voron Trident's bed only moves up and down inside its enclosure, so instead of swapping plates, a push-off routine lets the toolhead push the cooled print off the plate and out through its front door, which has to be open while it runs. Some printers won't print with the door open (the Prusa CORE One has a door sensor), so check yours first.
Ways to automate it
Push prints off with the toolheadOn a CoreXY printer, a G-code routine can push the cooled print off the front of the plate before the next job starts.
Your own ejection G-codeWrite the routine that clears your plate, and AutoPrint runs it after every print.

What filament can the Voron Voron Trident print?
Filament compatibility for the Voron Voron Trident: the materials it can handle, judged from its hotend, bed, chamber and enclosure.
Filament
Suitability
Notes
PLA
Great
The easiest filament to print. Works on almost any printer; a heated bed helps adhesion but is not required.
PETG
Great
Comfortably in range (PETG likes a ~230-250C hotend and a ~70-85C bed).
TPU & flexibles
Great
The direct-drive extruder feeds flexible filament well. Print slowly for clean results.
ABS & ASA
Great
Enclosed, with a hot enough hotend and bed: ABS and ASA print well.
Nylon (PA)
Good
Doable with care - dry the filament thoroughly, and an enclosure helps a lot.
Polycarbonate (PC)
Good
In range for PC. Dry the filament, print slowly, and use an enclosure for the best results.
Carbon-fiber & glass-filled
With care
Possible if you fit a hardened or wear-resistant nozzle - the abrasive fibers quickly wear a stock brass nozzle.
Tip: this is a general guide from the printer's specs - always check your filament's recommended settings. With SimplyPrint you can save a profile for each spool and track exactly what filament you have in stock.

Voron is an open-source 3D printer project, not a company. The Voron Design team publishes complete CoreXY printer designs (CAD, bill of materials, manuals and Klipper configs) on GitHub under the GPLv3; you source the parts and build one yourself, or buy a kit from an independent vendor. Vorons suit people who want to build, understand and modify their own enclosed, fast printer.

Nothing is held back: GPLv3 designs, Klipper firmware and off-the-shelf parts. The trade-off is that you build it, and support it, yourself.
Firmware and custom firmware ●●●●●
Every stock Voron runs Klipper (GPLv3), which builders install themselves following the Voron documentation; the printer configs ship in the GPL-3.0 design repositories.
[3][5]
Local control and integrations ●●●●●
The documented setup runs Klipper on a Raspberry Pi in the printer, controlled through Mainsail or Fluidd (both built on Moonraker) or OctoPrint in a browser on your own network; Moonraker and OctoPrint both document their APIs. There is no Voron cloud or account.
[3][15][16]
Third-party filament, slicers and parts ●●●●●
Any filament and any slicer: OrcaSlicer and Cura ship Voron profiles. The bill of materials uses off-the-shelf parts such as MGN linear rails, Misumi extrusions and common hotends and electronics.
[4][14]
Repairs and spare parts ●●●●●
Every part is either an off-the-shelf component on the published bill of materials and sourcing guide, or a printable part with STL and CAD files on GitHub, so any part can be replaced or remade.
[5][4]
Community and documentation ●●●●●
Large community on Discord, the Voron forum and Reddit, a community mods repository (VoronUsers, over 3,300 GitHub stars) and full public build documentation. Design changes are published as tagged GitHub releases with change notes.
[2][13][8]
Pros
Fully open designs under the GPLv3: CAD, bill of materials and manuals on GitHub.
Runs Klipper on your own network; no cloud, account or lock-in.
Every part can be bought from many suppliers or printed.
Large, active community and a big library of mods.
Cons
You build it yourself, which takes many hours and some skill; the result depends on the builder and the kit.
No manufacturer warranty or support line: help comes from the community and your kit vendor, and Voron does not endorse kit vendors.
You need ABS-type printed parts, printed yourself or ordered through the community's Print it Forward service.
