What filament can the Tiertime UP300 HS print?

Filament compatibility for the Tiertime UP300 HS: the materials Tiertime lists for it.

Filament Suitability Notes
PLA Great The easiest filament to print. Works on almost any printer; a heated bed helps adhesion but is not required.
PETG Great On the maker's list of materials for this printer.
TPU & flexibles Great On the maker's list of materials for this printer.
ABS & ASA Great On the maker's list of materials for this printer.
Nylon (PA) Great On the maker's list of materials for this printer.
Polycarbonate (PC) Great On the maker's list of materials for this printer.
Carbon-fiber & glass-filled Great On the maker's list of materials for this printer.
High-temperature (PEI, PEEK, PEKK) Great On the maker's list of materials for this printer.

Tip: this is a general guide from the printer's specs - always check your filament's recommended settings. With SimplyPrint you can save a profile for each spool and track exactly what filament you have in stock.

When to choose the Tiertime UP300 HS

Choose the UP300 HS when you need a closed printer with HEPA and activated-carbon filtering for ABS, ASA, PETG, TPU, PC and nylon, and you are fine with Tiertime's own UP Studio (OrcaSlicer is also listed). The build volume is modest and 200 mm/s is far below the new 500 to 700 mm/s hobby machines. For a heated-chamber machine with a bigger plate in the same family, see the UP400 Pro; for plain PLA at lower cost, an enclosed hobby printer like the Bambu Lab P2S is cheaper.

Pros

  • Fully enclosed with dual HEPA and activated-carbon filtration, and printing pauses when the front door opens (Tiertime).
  • Prints ABS, ASA, PETG, TPU, PC, PA, PA-CF, PPS and other engineering filaments, and accepts third-party filament (Tiertime).
  • Automatic levelling, filament run-out detection, pause to change filament and power-over USB for an external camera (Tiertime).
  • Wi-Fi, Ethernet, USB cable and USB stick, with a Tiertime Print Queue for several users on a network (Tiertime).
  • Removable waste collection tray and interchangeable double-sided build plates (Tiertime).

Cons

  • Max print speed is 200 mm/s with 5,000 mm/s² acceleration, slower than today's high-speed printers.
  • No built-in camera in our facts; Tiertime offers a USB port for an external one.
  • No confirmed SimplyPrint connection method in our facts: Klipper is incompatible and OctoPrint is unknown in our facts, and it is run through Tiertime's UP Studio and Print Queue.
  • Tiertime lists a single extruder with a 299 °C limit, so very high-temperature materials are out of reach.

Who it suits

  • Schools Good fit

Closed, filtered and pauses when the door opens, though we cannot confirm a SimplyPrint connection for approval queues and it is an industrial machine.

  • Hobbyists Can work

Capable with engineering materials, but slower and dearer than modern hobby printers.

  • Businesses Good fit

Closed, filtered and suited to ABS, PC and nylon prototypes with Tiertime's own queue.

  • Print farms Not a good fit

200 mm/s speed, no confirmed SimplyPrint connection and no plate-swap kit in our facts make it a weak farm unit.
