Connect the Stratasys F370 to SimplyPrint

Does the Stratasys F370 3D printer work with SimplyPrint, OctoPrint, Mainsail and Fluidd? Each way of connecting it, what it needs, and how to set it up.

  • The maker's cloud

    Possible, not built yet

Prints through Stratasys's GrabCAD Print, and GrabCAD's SDK gives software vendors APIs to connect Stratasys FDM printers to their systems. SimplyPrint could build support on it, but it isn't built yet. Source

What filament can the Stratasys F370 print?

Filament compatibility for the Stratasys F370: the materials Stratasys lists for it. It prints only Stratasys's own materials.

Filament Suitability Notes
PLA Great On the maker's list of materials for this printer.
PETG Not ideal Not on the maker's list, and this printer prints only the maker's own materials.
TPU & flexibles Great On the maker's list of materials for this printer.
ABS & ASA Great On the maker's list of materials for this printer.
Nylon (PA) Great On the maker's list of materials for this printer.

Carbon-fiber & glass-filled Great On the maker's list of materials for this printer.

Tip: this is a general guide from the printer's specs - always check your filament's recommended settings. With SimplyPrint you can save a profile for each spool and track exactly what filament you have in stock.

When to choose the Stratasys F370

Choose it over the F170 when you need the bigger tray, four material bays, or PC-ABS, ABS-ESD7 and Diran. For carbon-fibre nylon, the F370CR is the composite-ready version.

Pros

  • Four material bays: two model, two support.
  • Prints PLA, ABS-M30, ASA, PC-ABS, ABS-ESD7, Diran 410MF07, ABS-CF10 and TPU 92A.
  • Soluble support material for complex geometry.
  • Wired Ethernet and Wi-Fi, with GrabCAD Print and Insight software.

Cons

  • Not supported by SimplyPrint yet: support could be built on GrabCAD's SDK.
  • Runs Stratasys's closed controller with GrabCAD Print, so there is no OctoPrint or Klipper route.
  • Prints only Stratasys's own material spools.
  • No carbon-fibre nylon: that needs the F370CR.

Who it suits

  • Schools Good fit

Enclosed and quiet, and GREENGUARD certified with ABS, ASA and QSR support.

  • Hobbyists Not a good fit

An industrial machine with proprietary materials and a price to match.

  • Businesses Great fit

A broad engineering material range with soluble support and repeatable accuracy.

  • Print farms Can work

GrabCAD Print queues jobs across Stratasys printers, but SimplyPrint cannot manage it today.
