The KP3S V1 is a small, low-cost open-frame bedslinger from Kingroon with a 180 x 180 x 180 mm plate and a high-speed claim of up to 500 mm/s. It suits hobbyists who want a cheap fast printer for PLA and PETG.
Does the Kingroon KP3S V1 3D printer work with SimplyPrint, OctoPrint, Mainsail and Fluidd?
Each way of connecting it, what it needs, and how to set it up.
Kingroon advertises 'Klipper firmware' on a Cortex-A7 (Allwinner R528) board, but documents no Moonraker or web UI; owners can only read and write printer.cfg through ROOT G-code and a USB stick. Looks like a closed Klipper build, unlike the KP3S Pro V2/KLP1.
Source
Unfortunately, the Kingroon KP3S V1 is currently not, to our knowledge, compatible with OctoPrint, Mainsail, Fluidd, or SimplyPrint. For the best 3D printing experience, consider other 3D printers that are compatible with these softwares.
How we determine compatibility
We consider a printer compatible if it works with one or more of the following:
SimplyPrint custom integration for this specific model
OctoPrint support (requires the printer to support serial printing)
Klipper support (printer can run Klipper, either by flashing compatible firmware or using an external controller/pad)
OctoPrint compatibility is primarily based on whether the printer supports serial communication. If serial printing is not supported, we mark OctoPrint as not compatible.
Note: Some printers have third-party OctoPrint plugins that enable unofficial/custom connections. We don’t maintain a list of these plugins, so they are not reflected in our compatibility data.
None of the slicers in SimplyPrint's cloud can slice for the Kingroon KP3S V1 that we know of: it doesn't take standard G-code. Use the slicer its maker recommends.
We only list slicers you can use in the SimplyPrint cloud, so there may be others for the Kingroon KP3S V1.
No online slicing for the Kingroon KP3S V1

What filament can the Kingroon KP3S V1 print?
Filament compatibility for the Kingroon KP3S V1: the materials Kingroon lists for it.
Filament
Suitability
Notes
PLA
Great
On the maker's list of materials for this printer.
PETG
Great
On the maker's list of materials for this printer.
TPU & flexibles
Great
The direct-drive extruder feeds flexible filament well. Print slowly for clean results.
ABS & ASA
Not ideal
Not recommended - the bed cannot reach the ~90-110C ABS and ASA need.
Nylon (PA)
Not ideal
Not recommended - nylon needs a hotter hotend (~250-270C) and ideally an enclosure.
Polycarbonate (PC)
Not ideal
Not recommended - PC needs very high hotend temps and an enclosed chamber.
Carbon-fiber & glass-filled
With care
Possible if you fit a hardened or wear-resistant nozzle - the abrasive fibers quickly wear a stock brass nozzle.
Tip: this is a general guide from the printer's specs - always check your filament's recommended settings. With SimplyPrint you can save a profile for each spool and track exactly what filament you have in stock.
When to choose the Kingroon KP3S V1
Choose the KP3S V1 if you want a compact, affordable high-speed printer for PLA and PETG and are happy with a small plate. Kingroon says it ships with Klipper, linear rails on X and Y, a direct-drive extruder and a 2.4-inch touchscreen, and sells it at 348.99 USD. It had no independent review in our research, and the page lists it as sold out. If you need a bigger plate, an enclosure for ABS, or a classroom printer, pick an enclosed machine instead, such as a Bambu Lab P1S.
Pros
Low price for a high-speed printer, listed at 348.99 USD (Kingroon).
Kingroon quotes up to 500 mm/s and 10,000 mm/s² acceleration, and recommends 350 mm/s for everyday printing.
Direct-drive 3:1 BMG extruder and linear rails on X and Y (Kingroon).
Flexible PEI steel build plate, and Kingroon says assembly takes about 5 minutes.
Compact 180 x 180 x 180 mm footprint that fits on a desk.
Cons
Open frame with no enclosure, so it is meant for PLA and PETG only (Kingroon lists those two).
Small 180 x 180 x 180 mm build volume.
Our catalog rates both Klipper and OctoPrint as unlikely for SimplyPrint, so it is not expected to connect, even though the maker page says Klipper.
No built-in camera in our facts, and the speed headline is a maker claim with no supporting test data.
Who it suits
SchoolsNot a good fit
An open frame with a fast moving bed leaves moving parts in reach, and it is not expected to connect to SimplyPrint for student approvals.
HobbyistsGood fit
Cheap, fast and easy to set up for PLA and PETG, though the small plate and lack of an independent review hold it back.
BusinessesNot a good fit
Limited to PLA and PETG with a small plate and no enclosure, and there is no independent test of its reliability.
Print farmsNot a good fit
Without a camera, an enclosure or an expected SimplyPrint connection it is a weak choice for unattended fleets.

Kingroon is a Chinese company founded in 2016, with a Hong Kong address and a factory park in Huizhou, that made small, low-cost printers such as the KP3S bed slingers and the KLP1 CoreXY, the newer ones with Klipper installed. By October 2026 its shop lists its last printers only as sold-out clearance stock, and the company describes itself as a filament and resin maker.

Klipper and standard parts make the printers easy to work on, but Kingroon now lists them only as sold-out clearance stock and some spare parts are out of stock.
Firmware and custom firmware ●●●●●
The KP3S Pro V2 and KLP1 ship with open-source Klipper on Kingroon's own all-in-one board. We found no Kingroon source repository; upstream Klipper carries a config only for the original KP3S.
[3][8]
Local control and integrations ●●●●●
The KP3S Pro V2 and KLP1 have Klipper on the mainboard with built-in Wi-Fi and print over the web or from a USB drive, with no Raspberry Pi needed. Kingroon's guides use Fluidd or Mainsail in a browser on the local network, so other software can use Moonraker's documented API. We found no Kingroon printer cloud or account; its guide points to the third-party Obico for remote access.
[3][6][10]
Third-party filament, slicers and parts ●●●●●
Standard parts throughout: MK8 and E3D V5/V6 nozzles and heater blocks, a Titan-style extruder, GT2 belts and 5015 fans. Any filament works, and OrcaSlicer ships profiles for the KLP1 and the KP3S family.
[5][9]
Repairs and spare parts ●●●●●
Kingroon still lists about 20 KP3S-family parts, including the mainboard, extruder and Y-axis rail, but several (the mainboard and rail among them) were out of stock in October 2026, and the printers themselves are discontinued.
[5]
Pros
Klipper on small, cheap printers, controllable from a browser.
Standard, widely available parts (V6-type nozzles, GT2 belts, Titan-style extruder).
OrcaSlicer profiles for the KLP1 and KP3S models.
Cons
Printers discontinued: Kingroon's shop lists them only as sold-out clearance stock (October 2026).
Some spare parts out of stock, including the KP3S mainboard and Y-axis rail (October 2026).
No published firmware source found for the Klipper models.
Track record
October 2026: In October 2026 Kingroon's shop listed its remaining printers (KLP1, KP3S Pro V2, KP3S 3.0, KP5L) only as clearance items, all sold out, and its About page described the company as a maker of filaments and resins; KP3S spare parts were still listed, some out of stock.
[2][1][5]
2023: Kingroon began selling the KP3S Pro V2 and the KLP1 CoreXY with Klipper installed on an all-in-one board, so no Raspberry Pi was needed.
