The SimplyPrint Client add-on runs our printer client directly on your Home Assistant machine, so the hardware you already leave running around the clock is the same hardware that keeps your printers connected. No spare Raspberry Pi per printer, no second thing to maintain.
This add-on makes your Home Assistant machine the bridge between your printers and SimplyPrint. That is the whole job.
It does not put your printers into Home Assistant as entities - there are no printer sensors, no temperature or progress values to put on a dashboard, and nothing to drive an automation with. If that is what you came for, it is a separate thing and we have not built it yet: follow suggestion #324.
The add-on uses Home Assistant Ingress, so its interface is served through Home Assistant itself. Turn on Show in sidebar and you get a SimplyPrint entry in your Home Assistant menu. There is no port for you to open, and the client interface only accepts requests coming through Home Assistant.

Add-ons require the Supervisor, so you need Home Assistant OS or a Supervised install on a 64-bit machine. Container and Core installs cannot add this.
Add the repository
In Home Assistant go to Settings → Apps (Home Assistant renamed add-ons to apps, so older guides say Add-ons), open the app store, then the three-dot menu, choose Repositories, and paste https://github.com/SimplyPrint/home-assistant-apps.
Install SimplyPrint Client
The SimplyPrint Client add-on appears in the store. Open it and click Install. It is an experimental release candidate, so read the warning on the add-on page first.
Start it and open the panel
Turn on Start on boot, Watchdog and Show in sidebar, start the add-on, then open SimplyPrint from your Home Assistant menu and follow the setup to connect your printer to your SimplyPrint account.
Yes. It is published in our official add-on repository and you can install it today. It is still new and experimental (1.0.0-rc.17), so it has not been through as many hands as our other install methods - if you find a bug, tell us and we will fix it.
No. Add-ons are managed by the Home Assistant Supervisor, which only exists on Home Assistant OS and Supervised installs. On Container or Core, run the SimplyPrint client directly on a machine on your network instead.
64-bit only - aarch64 and amd64. That covers a Raspberry Pi 4 or 5 running 64-bit Home Assistant OS, an Intel NUC, or a generic x86 box. A 32-bit install will not see the add-on.

Yes - the add-on is included in Home Assistant's backups, so its configuration travels with the rest of your setup.
Yes. If you are on a device that can reach your Home Assistant, the Open app store of My Home Assistant button on this page adds our repository for you - then install SimplyPrint Client from the store. The manual route is Settings → Apps (formerly Add-ons) → the app store → three-dot menu → Repositories.
No, and this is the most common misunderstanding. The add-on runs the SimplyPrint client on your Home Assistant machine so your printers can reach SimplyPrint - it is a bridge, not a dashboard integration. It creates no entities, so there is no temperature, progress or AMS data to put on a Home Assistant dashboard or drive an automation with. That is a separate piece of work; you can follow and vote for it at suggestion #324.
Integration for SimplyPrint allows for applications to interact with your 3D printers, and your 3D printers to interact with other applications. This allows for endless possibilities, and we strongly believe that your 3D printer should be able to function as an IOT device, working together with any and all applications you can imagine!
This is why the team behind SimplyPrint work to provide official integrations for the most popular platforms, slicer and applications, while also allowing our users to create custom integrations using our API, or for approved third party vendors to create integrations to be used by all SimplyPrint users, using a "Log in with SimplyPrint" method (using the "OAuth2" method).
