Send files from Thingiverse or Printables directly to SimplyPrint

We've made it easier than ever to send files from Thingiverse or Printables directly to your 3D printer or slicer, with our simple but powerful Chrome browser extension!

This extension works for all Chromium-based browsers, including;

  • Opera
  • Brave
  • Vivaldi
  • Microsoft Edge (add-on found on the Edge store as well)
  • and other browsers running on Chromium

All these browsers can install extensions from the Chrome Web Store, so you can use this extension in any of them!

Our Chrome extension adds a button to the Thingiverse and Printables websites, which imports the file in SimplyPrint, giving you the choice to print or slice it directly, save it to your files or put it in your print queue.
We've also added a handy SimplyPrint button to your browser toolbar, quickly taking you to the SimplyPrint panel.

For now, this extension is quite simple, but in the future we plan to add more features - let us know what you'd like to see by submitting a suggestion here!

How to use the Google Chrome Extension with SimplyPrint

1

Install the extension

Add the SimplyPrint extension from the Chrome Web Store. It works in Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Vivaldi and other Chromium browsers, with a separate add-on on the Edge store.

2

Send a file in one click

Browse Thingiverse or Printables as usual. The extension adds a SimplyPrint button to each model, so you can send the file straight to your account instead of downloading it.

3

Slice, print or queue it

The file lands in SimplyPrint, where you can slice it in the browser, print it now, add it to your queue or save it to your files. A toolbar button also jumps you to the panel anytime.

About SimplyPrint integrations

Integration for SimplyPrint allows for applications to interact with your 3D printers, and your 3D printers to interact with other applications. This allows for endless possibilities, and we strongly believe that your 3D printer should be able to function as an IOT device, working together with any and all applications you can imagine!

This is why the team behind SimplyPrint work to provide official integrations for the most popular platforms, slicer and applications, while also allowing our users to create custom integrations using our API, or for approved third party vendors to create integrations to be used by all SimplyPrint users, using a "Log in with SimplyPrint" method (using the "OAuth2" method).

If you're a developer interested in creating an integration for SimplyPrint, please read our documentation on the subject.

If you're not a developer yourself, but would like to see an integration for a specific application, go check if it's already on our roadmap or suggestion list, and if not, feel free to suggest it!
