Single sign-on built for classrooms

Students sign in with their school account, no passwords to manage

Onboarding a class to 3D printing should not mean creating and resetting accounts one student at a time. With SimplyPrint single sign-on, students sign in with the school Google or Microsoft account they already use every day. No new passwords, no forgotten logins, no shared classroom login. The teacher gets a class that is ready to print, not an afternoon of account admin.

Less account admin, more printing

Single sign-on is the difference between a class that can start a project today and a teacher who spends the lesson handing out passwords. Connect the directory your school already runs, and SimplyPrint takes care of who is in which class and who can do what.

One school login, for the slicer and the printers

Students already have a school Google Workspace or Microsoft account. SimplyPrint lets them use exactly that to sign in - to the cloud slicer, the print queue, and everything else - so there is nothing new for them to remember and nothing for you to reset. Pair it with the browser-based slicer and a class of Chromebooks is ready to design and print with no installs and no passwords.

Your roster stays in sync, automatically

New students join all year, and others leave. With just-in-time provisioning a student gets a SimplyPrint account the first time they sign in, and with SCIM roster sync your directory does the rest: students added to your school directory appear in SimplyPrint, and students who leave are removed automatically. No spreadsheet to maintain, no end-of-year cleanup, no leftover logins. Live roster-sync guides cover Okta and Microsoft Entra ID.

Students added automatically

First sign-in creates the account, no manual setup.

Leavers removed automatically

SCIM removes access when a student leaves the directory.

No end-of-year cleanup

The roster matches your directory all year round.

Teachers come in as teachers, students as students

Tell SimplyPrint which group or attribute in your directory marks a teacher, and the right people arrive with the right role - teachers with classroom oversight, students with the safe, limited access you choose. No going through the list by hand after every sign-in, and no risk of a student landing with teacher controls. You can also map directory groups to SimplyPrint classes so a student's classes are set up for them on the way in.

Teacher and group mapping

One district login, every managed school

Running 3D printing across a whole district? Connect the district identity provider once and it can sign people in to every managed school. When someone signs in, SimplyPrint routes them to the right school - directly when there is one match, joining them to all their schools, or letting them pick from a school selector when they belong to more than one. Teacher mapping and a default role apply across the district, so every school starts from the same sensible setup.

Works on the Chromebooks and tablets your students already have

Single sign-on runs in the browser, so it works the same on a Chromebook, an iPad or a shared lab PC. There is nothing to install and no admin rights needed on the device. Students open the browser, sign in with their school account, and they are in - which is exactly what classroom 3D printing on managed devices needs.

Plan access: SSO is part of the School plan

Single sign-on - including student sign-in, automatic roster sync, teacher mapping and district login - is included on the School plan (and Enterprise). There is no separate SSO add-on for schools.

Frequently asked questions

Yes. That is the whole point. SimplyPrint connects to Google Workspace or Microsoft Entra ID (and other providers) so students sign in with the school account they already use. There is no new password to set or reset, and no shared classroom login.
No. With just-in-time provisioning a student's account is created the first time they sign in. With SCIM roster sync, your school directory adds students automatically and removes them when they leave, so the SimplyPrint roster matches your directory without any manual work.
You point SimplyPrint at a group or attribute in your directory that marks teachers. Anyone in that group arrives as a teacher with classroom oversight; everyone else arrives as a student with the limited access you choose. You set it once and it applies to everyone signing in.
Yes. Connect the district identity provider once and it can sign people in to every managed school. SimplyPrint routes each person to the right school - directly when there is a single match, or with a school selector when they belong to more than one - and applies teacher mapping and a default role across the district.
Yes. Single sign-on runs in the browser, so it works on Chromebooks, iPads and shared lab computers with nothing to install and no device admin rights needed. It pairs naturally with the browser-based cloud slicer, which also runs on those same devices.
SimplyPrint is built in the EU and is GDPR compliant. Sign-in uses the same protocols enterprises rely on (signed SAML assertions, or OIDC with PKCE and validated signed tokens), and you control exactly what students can do through roles and permissions.
Single sign-on for schools is included on the School plan, with student sign-in, roster sync, teacher mapping and district login all part of it. It is also on the Enterprise plan. There is no separate SSO add-on.
