Online Bambu Lab AMS control

Bambu Lab AMS, AMS Lite, AMS 2 Pro and AMS HT - in one cloud panel

Connect your Bambu Lab printer to SimplyPrint and the AMS comes along for the ride. Every slot is shown live, every spool gets tracked in your Filament Manager, and every multi-color print is auto-mapped to whichever colours you've got loaded right now.

The live AMS strip, on every Bambu Lab printer

Open any Bambu Lab printer's panel in SimplyPrint and you'll see the AMS rendered slot-by-slot: #1 Sky Blue PLA, #2 Beige PLA, #3 Grey PLA, #4 Black PLA, with the right colour swatch, the loaded brand, and the current material type. Empty slots are dashed placeholders so you can see at a glance which ones are free.

For the H2D and H2C with two independent nozzles, each nozzle gets its own row - Nozzle 1 with its slots and active material, Nozzle 2 with its own. The slot currently feeding the print is highlighted in the strip.

Every AMS variant - covered

SimplyPrint supports the whole AMS family. Pick the one that came with your printer (or that you added later) and SimplyPrint handles the slot count, chaining limit and mapping behaviour automatically.

AMS

4 slots per unit, chain up to 4 units for 16 colours.

AMS Lite

4 slots for the A1 and A1 Mini, no chaining.

AMS 2 Pro

4 slots with improved feeding and drying, chains x4.

AMS HT

Single-spool high-temperature unit for engineering materials.

Chain AMS HT alongside standard AMS for hybrid prints

The AMS HT handles high-temperature materials (PA, PC, fibre-filled) while standard AMS units carry PLA/PETG/TPU. Chain them on the same printer for jobs that mix high-temp main material with regular supports.

We send the mapping to the printer - so you don't reload slots

Slice a 4-colour file in OrcaSlicer or BambuStudio with filaments 1, 2, 3, 4 - but your AMS has those colours loaded in slots 3, 1, 4, 2? SimplyPrint's color matcher works out the mapping at print start and sends the mapping G-code directly to the Bambu printer. The print runs with the right colour out of each slot - no reloading, no reslicing.

This works across all AMS variants (AMS, AMS Lite, AMS 2 Pro, AMS HT) and across chained AMS Hubs, so a 16-colour print across 4 chained units gets mapped end-to-end.

Swap a spool at the printer - SimplyPrint catches it

Material syncing is 2-way for Bambu Lab printers (via the SimplyPrint Bambu integration). Pick your mode:

  • Printer to SimplyPrint - changes at the AMS push to your inventory
  • SimplyPrint to printer - changes in SimplyPrint push to the AMS
  • 2-way (latest change wins) - both directions, with conflict resolution
  • Off - manual only
Enable auto-create spools when syncing and a new colour loaded at the AMS appears in your Filament Manager automatically. Enable auto-assign to slots and SimplyPrint binds it to the right slot in one go.

Per-print: Use AMS, or skip it

Every print-start dialog on a Bambu Lab printer respects the model's own start options. The Use AMS toggle is right there alongside Bed Leveling, Flow Calibration and Timelapse. Defaults are remembered per printer model in your account settings, so you set it once for your P1S and once for your A1 Mini and don't have to think about it again.

AMS auto-refill tracking - and Filament Manager deduction

Bambu Lab's AMS supports auto-refill across slots loaded with the same material - the AMS automatically switches to a backup slot when the primary runs out. SimplyPrint reads the active slot index directly from Bambu's printer API in real time, so auto-refill swaps are reflected as soon as the printer reports them. SimplyPrint tracks the active slot through the auto-refill and deducts filament usage from the right spool in your inventory. Combined with filament-runout notifications, you get a full audit trail of which spool printed what, even on long unattended print farm runs.

Frequently asked questions

All of them: AMS (4 slots, chains via AMS Hub), AMS Lite (4 slots, no chain - for A1 / A1 Mini), AMS 2 Pro (4 slots, chains x4) and AMS HT (1 slot, chains alongside other units). All support live slot view, Filament Manager tracking, mapping G-code and 2-way material sync.
No. SimplyPrint connects to Bambu Lab printers using Bambu's standard interfaces via the SimplyPrint Bambu integration. The printer runs unmodified Bambu firmware; SimplyPrint sits between your slicer / panel / queue and the printer.
Yes. The print-start dialog has a per-print Use AMS toggle. Turn it off and the print runs from the external spool holder. Defaults are remembered per printer model, so you can set Use AMS on by default for your P1S Combo and off by default for a P1P with external spool.
Yes. A Bambu Lab printer with 4 chained AMS units shows 16 slots in the panel and 16 selectable colours in the slicer. The mapping G-code SimplyPrint sends at print start references the right chained slot index, so a 16-colour print runs end-to-end.
Each nozzle has its own slot strip in the panel. Nozzle 1 has its slots and active material, Nozzle 2 has its own. Multi-color slicing assigns colours per nozzle, and the mapping G-code routes the right colour to the right nozzle.
Yes. Auto-refill is a printer-side feature; SimplyPrint tracks the active slot through the switch and deducts filament from the right spool in your Filament Manager. You get a full audit trail of which spool printed what, even when auto-refill swapped slots mid-print.
AMS live view, slot tracking, multi-color slicing and mapping are included on every plan, including Free. Auto eject and auto load with material-aware temperatures during slot swaps is included from Basic upwards.
