3D print directly from SketchUp - export, slice and print in one click

The SimplyPrint extension for SketchUp bridges the gap between 3D modeling and 3D printing. Model in SketchUp, then send your work to your printer in a single click - no need to manually export files, juggle SD cards, or open a slicer in a separate window.

The extension adds a SimplyPrint toolbar, an Extensions → SimplyPrint submenu, a File → Send to SimplyPrint… entry, and a right-click context menu option. Pick STL or 3MF, choose whether to send the whole model or just your selection, hit Send, and SimplyPrint opens in your browser with the model loaded - ready to slice, queue, or print.

How to install

Grab the extension from the SketchUp Extension Warehouse (recommended) or from our CDN as a backup. Either way it's the same .rbz file - install it in SketchUp using the steps below.

  1. In SketchUp, go to Window → Extension Manager.

  2. At the bottom of the Extension Manager, click Install Extension.

  3. Select the downloaded simplyprint.rbz file and approve any prompts from SketchUp.

  4. Restart SketchUp - the SimplyPrint toolbar appears, and Send to SimplyPrint… is added under the Extensions menu.

Getting started

Click the SimplyPrint toolbar icon (or pick Extensions → SimplyPrint → Send to SimplyPrint…) to open the dialog. Click Sign in the first time - a browser tab opens, you approve the request, and you're set for future sessions. Choose STL or 3MF, pick your options if you want, then hit Send to SimplyPrint. Your browser opens SimplyPrint with the model loaded, ready to slice and print.

  • Export STL or 3MF directly from SketchUp to SimplyPrint
  • One-click upload of the active model - or limit to your current selection
  • Auto-convert units to millimeters (SketchUp users often work in inches/feet; printers expect mm)
  • Optional solid validation - warns before uploading non-manifold geometry that won't print
  • Sign in once - the SimplyPrint session is shared with the Blender and Fusion 360 plugins
  • Works on Windows, macOS, and Linux
