Our cloud-based slicer runs entirely online, which means you can use it on any device with a web browser. The slicing happens on our powerful servers, so even low-powered devices like Chromebooks, tablets, and smartphones can slice complex models with ease.

Whether you're at your desktop workstation, on your couch with a tablet, or checking a quick slice on your phone, SimplyPrint's online slicer is always ready. No installation barriers, no hardware requirements - just open your browser and start slicing.

1-click print, queue or save

Ready to print right away? One single click starts the print. Wanna queue it up? Use our print queue and queue up the print instead - or save it for later in your cloud files.

  • Start on your printer(s) - one or multiple - from anywhere
  • Add to your print queue
  • Save the file for later use in the SimplyPrint Cloud File System

Every profile. Every setting. Exactly as you know them.

We use the unmodified, official open-source slicer engines via their command-line interface - which means you get 100% of the profiles and 100% of the settings that you'd find in the desktop versions.

All the printer profiles, filament profiles, and print settings are here. The same categories, the same tabs, the same setting placement. If you've used PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer, or BambuStudio before, you'll feel right at home - but with the convenience of cloud access from anywhere.

You can also import and export profiles, so your existing configurations work seamlessly.

For beginners, classroms and experts alike

Our slicer is designed to be beginner- and student-friendly, providing a much simpler and more streamlined user experience than the desktop slicers you may be used to.

With our very own "Basic" slicer mode, providing a simpler view of all the most common settings, while still allowing access to all settings for advanced users, the SimplyPrint slicer is a perfect solution for schools, classrooms and beginners alike.

Settings settings settings: got printers from different brands?

As with all features in SimplyPrint, we try to give you a simple but powerful experience, allowing you to get started with zero tinkering, or tinker the hell out of everything! With dozens of settings, it's easy to optimize your workflow and experience, especially for cross-brand users.

  • Automatic engine selection settings
  • Bed type & slicer settings mode settings
  • Per-printer-model settings
  • 10+ UI settings

Multi-user organizations: permissions, settings, locks & more

Our slicer comes with over 18 different permissions, allowing you to define exactly what each group of users can and can't do in the slicer.
This is perfect for schools and other multi-user organizations who want to limit some or all groups of users.

As the only platform SimplyPrint lets you control exactly which slicing settings and modes certain users should be allowed to access; choose between all 100-500 (depending on slicing engine) slicing settings, or don't let a certain group mess with the settings at all, and simply provide them with pre-set profile(s).

Filament, printer & files all in one place: a part of the ecosystem

SimplyPrint offers more than slicing: manage your filament, printers, and files all in one place. With your printer and filament connected to our platform, we can pre-set many settings for you—especially filament-related ones.

Built on open source, giving back to open source

We love open source, and we're committed to supporting the amazing communities behind PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer, and BambuStudio.

We use the unmodified open-source slicer engines and fully comply with their licenses. We've made contributions to all three projects, and we even share our slicer-building process open source on GitHub at github.com/SimplyPrint/slicer-builds.

Our cloud slicer isn't about taking from open source - it's about making these incredible tools accessible to more people, on more devices, while respecting and supporting the developers who make them possible.

What's free: limits & pricing

We're determined to make our cloud slicer as accessible as possible for everyone, opting for one of the most generous free plans on the market that 99% of hobbyists with just a few printers should be able to use for free - forever. But, as cloud slicing happens on our servers, in the cloud, and is a compute-intensive - thereby expensive, for us - operation, there are some limits on what we can offer for free.

Frequently Asked Questions

SimplyPrint's cloud slicer is included with your SimplyPrint account. We offer a free tier that includes slicing capabilities, as well as premium plans with additional features like print farm management and advanced analytics. There's no 'catch' - we believe in making professional 3D printing tools accessible, and the slicer is a core part of that mission. It does, however, come with some limitations on the free plan; learn more on our pricing page.
Yes! Our cloud slicer works on smartphones and tablets. Because the slicing happens on our servers, not on your device, even phones and tablets can handle complex models. The interface is optimized for smaller screens while keeping all settings accessible. Whether you're using an iPhone, Android phone, iPad, or any tablet, you can slice models on the go.
Absolutely! Chromebooks are perfect for our cloud-based slicer. Since all the heavy processing happens on our servers, your Chromebook just needs a web browser. No installation restrictions, no compatibility issues - just open Chrome (or any browser) and start slicing. This is ideal for schools, makerspaces, or anyone using Chromebooks.
Yes! We use the unmodified official slicer engines, which means you get 100% of the profiles and 100% of the settings from the desktop versions. All printer profiles, filament profiles, and print settings are available. The categories, tabs, and setting placement are exactly the same. If you know the desktop version, you'll feel right at home in our online version.
Yes! You can import profiles from PrusaSlicer, OrcaSlicer, and BambuStudio into SimplyPrint's cloud slicer. You can also export your profiles from SimplyPrint if you want to use them elsewhere. This makes it easy to migrate your existing configurations or share profiles between devices.
Yes! Both OrcaSlicer and BambuStudio engines in our cloud slicer support multi-material and multi-color printing. You can configure multiple extruders, assign different materials to different parts of your model, and generate multi-color prints just like you would in the desktop versions.
Yes! We have a lot of planned engine integrations in the future, with Cura coming, ElegooSlicer, CrealityPrint, Kiri:Moto (cloud and local!), and many more: the only ones that we can't add are the closed-source slicers, such as ideaMaker and Simplify3D. But, we'd love to also support some closed source engines if the slicer brands wanna work with us.
TLDR; yes, there will be some things that our online slicer does not yet support, that the desktop versions do. Seeing as only the slicing process is what the various supported slicer engines perform for us, the rest - all UI; everything you interact with - is made by us, and does not re-use anything from the desktop versions. This means that everything has to be ported from desktop to web.

Currently, while our slicer is in open beta, this means that a couple of things will be missing, such as;
  • Paint-on support
  • Paint-on multicolor (only per-object multicolor is currently supported)
  • Text-generator & other object-manipulation features
  • Makerworld / Printables / [model repository] integrations
If there's anything you really miss in our slicer, let your voice be heard in our Suggestion Box!
The cloud slicer supports uploading and slicing 3D models in the STL, 3MF, and OBJ file formats. If you use 3MF files, the slicer will treat all independent bodies separately, allowing you to move, rotate, scale, and delete each part individually - just like in the desktop versions.
Of course! While SimplyPrint itself is not open source, our use of the various open source slicing engines remain fully compliant with their licenses (AGPL-3.0); we use the slicer's built-in "CLI"-capabilities, but all UI that you see and interact with inside SimplyPrint is fully custom-made by us, for you and does not use any of the open source engine's code., seeing as the desktop applications can't be directly "translated" to simply run in the web. We've made contributions to various slicer projects, link to their repositories, and even share our own slicer-building process open source at github.com/SimplyPrint/slicer-builds (though not required to). We're making these tools more accessible, not taking from their communities. Furthermore, we have a great dialogue with, and accept from, SoftFever - the OrcaSlicer developer - and have used the services of various OrcaSlicer maintainers to help us create our online slicer.
Our slicer currently supports BambuStudio, OrcaSlicer and PrusaSlicer, and these engines support cartesian and delta printers. As SimplyPrint is a 3D printing platform for FDM, we do not support resin printing, even though PrusaSlicer is technically capable of slicing for resin printers. Belt printers are unfortunately not supported due to neither BambuStudio, OrcaSlicer or PrusaSlicer natively supporting them. We are, however, working on a Kiri:Moto engine implementation, which will enable us to support belt printers in the future.
