Qué slicer usar con Markforged FX10
La Markforged FX10 solo imprime desde el slicer propio de Markforged, Eiger, así que ninguno de los slicers en la nube de SimplyPrint puede laminar para ella.

Cuándo elegir la Markforged FX10
Choose the FX10 when you make jigs, fixtures, tooling or end-use parts that need continuous carbon fibre or metal strength, in a factory that is happy to manage printers in Markforged's Eiger software. SimplyPrint cannot run it through Klipper, OctoPrint or the SimplyPrint Client; the maker's cloud is the only route marked possible. For high-temperature polymers such as PEEK and PEI at a far lower price, look at the Prusa Pro HT90.
Ventajas
A second nozzle lays continuous carbon fibre into Onyx, Onyx FR, Onyx ESD or Nylon White for what Markforged calls metal-strength parts.
A 375 x 300 x 300 mm volume with a chamber heated to 60 °C and a bed up to 150 °C, so large parts print in one piece.
Low-touch automation: automatic spool changeover, laser-micrometer and vision-based calibration and part inspection, and a build for around-the-clock use (Markforged's claims).
A separately bought Metal Kit swaps the print engine so the same machine prints 17-4 PH and 316L stainless steel and tool steel.
Markforged lists two-factor authentication, encrypted print files, over-the-air updates, and UL, CE and EU Machinery Directive certifications.
Fabbaloo's launch coverage calls it much improved over the Markforged X7 and an impressive machine for industrial production.
Desventajas
Industrial price: Fabbaloo puts a unit at about US$100,000, and metal printing needs the extra Metal Kit plus Wash-1 debinding and a Sinter-2 furnace run of 26 to 31 hours.
SimplyPrint cannot connect to it through Klipper, OctoPrint or the SimplyPrint Client; only the maker's cloud is marked possible.
Slicing and remote management run in Markforged's cloud-based Eiger software, which some organisations' compliance rules don't allow; Markforged lists two-factor authentication and encrypted print files.
Big and heavy: 122 kg and 760 x 640 x 1,200 mm, so it needs floor space, not a desk.
We found no independent hands-on test, so most performance claims are Markforged's own.
A quién va dirigido
Centros educativosNo encaja bien
A roughly US$100,000, 122 kg industrial machine with cloud software; at most a university research lab, not a classroom.
AficionadosNo encaja bien
Priced and sized for factories, and SimplyPrint cannot connect to it.
EmpresasExcelente opción
Built for aerospace, automotive and tooling work, with continuous fibre, optional metal, a heated chamber and automated calibration.
Granjas de impresiónPuede funcionar
Designed for low-touch production and fleet management in Eiger, but every machine is a six-figure purchase and SimplyPrint cannot run it.

Markforged is an American maker of industrial 3D printers, founded in 2013 near Boston, known for nylon parts reinforced with continuous carbon fibre and for metal printing. Printers, materials and its cloud software Eiger are sold together as one closed platform to manufacturers, defence and aerospace. Nano Dimension bought it in April 2025, and in May 2026 agreed to sell it to Stratasys.

Closed by design: proprietary firmware, Markforged-only materials and cloud slicing, for industrial buyers who want one supported, secure system.
Firmware y firmware personalizado ●●●●●
Closed firmware, updated over the air through Eiger; no source is published and no custom firmware is supported.
[2]
Control local e integraciones ●●●●●
Markforged printers are sliced and run through Eiger, its cloud software, by default, and Eiger is the only slicer they accept. Sites that cannot use the cloud can pay for Offline Eiger, which works over USB or a private network. APIs for linking other enterprise systems come with Eiger Fleet, a paid cloud subscription. We found no local interface for other software.
[2][6][16]
Filamento, slicers y piezas de terceros ●●●●●
Markforged printers use only Markforged materials (Onyx, continuous fibres, metals) and only Eiger for slicing.
[2][3]
Reparaciones y repuestos ●●●●●
Replacement print heads, extruders and nozzle parts are sold through Markforged resellers, mostly as assemblies (a Mark Two print head lists at over 1,400 pounds), and some come free under service ('Success') plans.
[13][14]
Datos y privacidad ●●●●●
Eiger accounts hold your parts library and print jobs on AWS, encrypted, with two-factor login and ISO 27001 certification, and the privacy policy says what is collected. Offline Eiger keeps the data on site.
[4][5][2][6]
Ventajas
Prints parts reinforced with continuous carbon fibre, Kevlar or fibreglass, strong enough to replace some machined parts.
One supported system: printers, materials and software from one company, with ISO 27001 certification.
Offline Eiger available for sites that cannot use the cloud.
The FX10 prints both composites and metal.
Desventajas
Only Markforged materials and the Eiger slicer; no third-party filament.
Cloud first: the offline option is a separate subscription.
Ownership in flux: bought by Nano Dimension in 2025, with a sale to Stratasys pending in 2026.
Layoffs in 2023 and a $25 million patent settlement in 2024.
Trayectoria
27 de mayo de 2026: Stratasys agreed to buy MarkForged, Inc. from Nano Dimension for $42.5 million in cash; Nano Dimension keeps the metal binder jetting line. Closing was expected in the second half of 2026, and Stratasys still called it pending in August 2026.
[9][10]
25 de abril de 2025: Nano Dimension completed its acquisition of Markforged, valued at $116 million ($5.00 per share).
[8]
septiembre 2024: Markforged settled Continuous Composites' patent suit, filed in 2021, by agreeing to pay $25 million over four years, with cross-licences; neither side admitted liability.
[11][12]
abril 2024: A Delaware jury found that Markforged infringed a Continuous Composites patent on continuous-fibre printing; Markforged attempted to appeal before settling.
[12]
noviembre 2023: Markforged announced a restructuring, mostly an approximately 10% headcount reduction, citing continuing economic headwinds.
[7]
septiembre 2022: Markforged said its Offline Eiger subscription, which runs fully offline, had received a year of quarterly updates with the same materials and features as the cloud version.
