Voron is an open-source 3D printer project, not a company. The Voron Design team publishes complete CoreXY printer designs (CAD, bill of materials, manuals and Klipper configs) on GitHub under the GPLv3; you source the parts and build one yourself, or buy a kit from an independent vendor. Vorons suit people who want to build, understand and modify their own enclosed, fast printer.

Nothing is held back: GPLv3 designs, Klipper firmware and off-the-shelf parts. The trade-off is that you build it, and support it, yourself.

●●●●●		 Every stock Voron runs Klipper (GPLv3), which builders install themselves following the Voron documentation; the printer configs ship in the GPL-3.0 design repositories. [3][5]

●●●●●		 The documented setup runs Klipper on a Raspberry Pi in the printer, controlled through Mainsail or Fluidd (both built on Moonraker) or OctoPrint in a browser on your own network; Moonraker and OctoPrint both document their APIs. There is no Voron cloud or account. [3][15][16]

●●●●●		 Any filament and any slicer: OrcaSlicer and Cura ship Voron profiles. The bill of materials uses off-the-shelf parts such as MGN linear rails, Misumi extrusions and common hotends and electronics. [4][14]

●●●●●		 Every part is either an off-the-shelf component on the published bill of materials and sourcing guide, or a printable part with STL and CAD files on GitHub, so any part can be replaced or remade. [5][4]
Communauté et documentation
●●●●●		 Large community on Discord, the Voron forum and Reddit, a community mods repository (VoronUsers, over 3,300 GitHub stars) and full public build documentation. Design changes are published as tagged GitHub releases with change notes. [2][13][8]
Avantages
  • Fully open designs under the GPLv3: CAD, bill of materials and manuals on GitHub.
  • Runs Klipper on your own network; no cloud, account or lock-in.
  • Every part can be bought from many suppliers or printed.
  • Large, active community and a big library of mods.
Inconvénients
  • You build it yourself, which takes many hours and some skill; the result depends on the builder and the kit.
  • No manufacturer warranty or support line: help comes from the community and your kit vendor, and Voron does not endorse kit vendors.
  • You need ABS-type printed parts, printed yourself or ordered through the community's Print it Forward service.
