# Setting Up Your Sovol SV08 Max (Heat Chamber)

## About Your Printer

Great news! Your **Sovol SV08 Max (Heat Chamber)** is a "smart" printer that already runs Klipper firmware. This makes setup much easier.

**What this means:** Your printer already has built-in networking and runs Klipper (advanced firmware). It has a web interface (usually "Mainsail" or "Fluidd") that SimplyPrint can connect to directly. We can install the SimplyPrint companion software directly **on** the printer itself.

**No extra hardware needed!** You just need to enable SimplyPrint in your printer's web interface.

**What you'll need:**
- Your printer connected to your WiFi network
- Access to the printer's web interface (usually at `http://your-printer-ip`)
- A SimplyPrint account

Let's get started with the setup!

### Requirements for this setup

Your Klipper printer needs:

**1. Web Interface**
Your printer must use **Mainsail** or **Fluidd** web interface, OR have **Moonraker** installed standalone.

**2. Moonraker Version**
Your Moonraker version must be **v0.8.0 or newer** (released Feb 11, 2023). Most modern printers ship with a modern Moonraker version.

How to check your Moonraker version:
- In Mainsail/Fluidd: Go to **Machine / Settings** → **System / Software updates** → **Update Manager / Software Updates**
- Or visit `http://yourprinter.local:7125` in your browser
- **Note:** Some manufacturers may remove access to version information in their custom builds
- **Caution:** If your printer doesn't run stock Klipper, be careful about updating Moonraker - some printers can't handle updates. Research your specific model before updating.

**3. Official Moonraker**
Must be the **official version of Moonraker**, not a manufacturer-modified "fork" where SimplyPrint support may have been removed.

**Don't meet these requirements?**
If your Moonraker version is **older than v0.8.0**, the version **doesn't show up at all**, or you have a manufacturer-modified Moonraker that doesn't support `[simplyprint]` - and you **have SSH access** to your printer - you can use our [SSH setup script](/setup-guide/methods/makerbase-powered) instead. It installs a fresh Moonraker with SimplyPrint support alongside your existing setup.

> ✅ **Ready to continue?:** If your printer meets these requirements, you can proceed to the next step. If you're unsure about the Moonraker version, continue anyway - we'll help you check it in the next step!
### Step 2: Find Mainsail/Fluidd

### Getting your printer ready

> ℹ️ **Already have access?:** If you **already have access to Mainsail, Fluidd or Moonraker**, you can skip this step and continue to the next step.

### Checklist: Accessing your printer's web interface

Follow these steps to access Mainsail or Fluidd on your printer:

> **Moonraker too old? SSH fallback available**
>
> If you discover in the next step that your **Moonraker version is too old** (older than v0.8.0) and you
> **can't update it** through the web interface, but you **do have SSH access** to your printer, you can use
> our [SSH setup script](/setup-guide/methods/makerbase-powered) as a fallback. This script works on any
> Klipper printer with SSH access, not just Makerbase-powered ones.

> ℹ️ **Moonraker too old? > ✅ **Ready to proceed?:** Once you have access to your printer's web interface (Mainsail, Fluidd, or Moonraker via SSH), continue to the next step where we'll enable SimplyPrint!
### Step 3: Enable SimplyPrint

Your printer runs Klipper firmware with a web interface (Mainsail or Fluidd). Here's how to connect it to SimplyPrint.

#### Find Your Printer's IP Address

You need to access your printer's web interface using its IP address (looks like `192.168.1.XXX`).

**How to find it:**
- **Printer's touchscreen:** Check Settings → Network or WiFi section (location varies by printer)
- **Router admin page:** Look for connected devices and find your printer's name
- **Network scanner app:** Use an app like "Fing" on your phone to scan your network
- **mDNS hostname:** Some printers respond to hostnames like `http://mainsail.local` or `http://fluidd.local`

Once you have the IP, type it in any web browser: `http://192.168.1.XXX`

You'll see your printer's web interface - either **Mainsail** (dark theme, sidebar on left) or **Fluidd** (lighter theme, gear icon for settings).

**Note:** Some printers run their interface on a specific port (e.g., `http://192.168.1.XXX:4408`). If the default doesn't work, check your printer's documentation.

---

#### Add `[simplyprint]` to Your Configuration

**If you use Mainsail:**

1. Click **Machine** in the left sidebar
2. Under **Config Files**, click `moonraker.conf`
   - NOTE: If you have a custom config file or one called `moonraker.generated.config`, edit that instead
3. Add this to the bottom of the file (with an empty line above):

```
[simplyprint]
```

4. Click **Save & Restart**

**If you use Fluidd:**

1. Click the **gear icon** (Configuration)
2. Under **Configuration Files**, click `moonraker.conf`
   - NOTE: If you have a custom config file or one called `moonraker.generated.config`, edit that instead
3. Add this to the bottom of the file (with an empty line above):

```
[simplyprint]
```

4. Click **Save & Restart**

---

#### Link Your Printer to SimplyPrint

After saving and restarting, your printer should appear automatically in SimplyPrint!

1. Go to [SimplyPrint.io](https://simplyprint.io) and log in
2. Click **Add Printer**
3. Check **Pending Printers** - your printer will likely appear there automatically
4. Click to add it and you're done! 🎉

**If your printer doesn't appear in Pending Printers:**

This can happen if you're not on the same network as your printer (different outgoing IP). In this case, use the setup code:

1. In your printer's web interface, click the **bell icon** (🔔) in the top bar
2. Find the "SimplyPrint Setup Request" notification
3. Copy the setup code and paste it in SimplyPrint under **Add Printer**

**Still having trouble?** See our troubleshooting guide: [Printer in setup isn't detected / can't find setup code](https://help.simplyprint.io/en/article/printer-in-setup-isnt-detected-cant-find-setup-code-3jyftm/). This also helps if you can't find Mainsail/Fluidd or the web interface isn't working.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### How do I know if my printer runs Klipper?

If your printer has a **touchscreen** and you can access a **web interface** (Mainsail or Fluidd) by typing its IP address in a browser, it probably runs Klipper. Common Klipper printers include: Creality K1/K2, Sovol SV07, FLSUN V400, Voron, etc.

### I don't see the SimplyPrint notification after adding [simplyprint]

Try these steps: 1) Make sure you saved the file AND restarted Moonraker, 2) Check for typos - it must be exactly `[simplyprint]` on its own line, 3) Check the **Pending Printers** section in SimplyPrint, 4) Verify Moonraker is running (check your web interface).

### What is Moonraker?

Moonraker is the API server that lets external software (like SimplyPrint) communicate with Klipper. It runs alongside Klipper on your printer. If you have Mainsail or Fluidd, you already have Moonraker.

### SimplyPrint says my Moonraker version is too old

SimplyPrint requires **Moonraker v0.8.0 or newer**. Update Moonraker through your printer's web interface (Machine → Update Manager in Mainsail, or Settings → Software Updates in Fluidd).

### Do I need extra hardware for Klipper printers?

**No!** If your printer already runs Klipper, everything is built-in. Just add `[simplyprint]` to your config and you're done.
