# SimplyPrint Plans Overview

SimplyPrint plans are organised into three tabs on the pricing page:

1. **Personal & Business** - Free, Basic, Pro, Print Farm, Enterprise. The ecosystem ladder for individuals, businesses and large organisations.
2. **Just one tool** - Cloud Slicer, Filament Manager. Single-feature plans for users who only want browser slicing or filament tracking and do not want printer management. There is no combined Cloud Slicer + Filament Manager plan; if a user wants both, recommend an ecosystem plan.
3. **Education** - the Education plan plus optional District access. Spans schools, universities, libraries, makerspaces, community workshops and bootcamps - not just K-12. Education is paid-only: there is no free Education tier, and an unpaid Education account is locked when its 14-day trial ends (it does not fall back to the Free plan, which is Personal & Business only).

**Default recommendation:** the ecosystem plans (Personal & Business). Everything in SimplyPrint works better together. Recommend a single-tool plan only when the user explicitly does not want printer management or cannot connect their printer. Recommend Enterprise only when the user mentions SSO, audit logs, IP whitelisting, DPA signing, an SLA or a formal IT/compliance review.

**Yearly billing:** most plans get a 15% discount billed annually. Cloud Slicer and Filament Manager get 20% (the per-plan override beats the global default). Education has fixed pricing without a yearly discount.

## Personal & Business

### Free

*For trying SimplyPrint*

The Free plan is perfect for hobbyists and beginners. Get started with SimplyPrint at no cost.

- Price: Free
- Target: Hobbyists and beginners with 1-2 printers
- Printers: 2 included
- Users: 1 included
- Storage: 1 GB per user
- Add-ons available: AI Camera Detection
- When to recommend: Start every recommendation here for hobbyists or evaluators. The Free plan caps at 2 printers and 15 cloud slices per month — if either limit will hurt the user, suggest Basic or Pro instead. Don't recommend Free as a long-term home for businesses, schools, or print farms.

### Basic

*For hobbyists with a few printers*

The Basic plan is ideal for hobbyists who want more features and customization options.

- Price: $5.99/month or $61.10/year (15% savings)
- Target: Hobbyists and enthusiasts with up to 3 printers
- Printers: 3 included
- Users: 1 included
- Storage: 2 GB per user
- Add-ons available: AI Camera Detection
- When to recommend: Recommend Basic when the user wants more than the Free plan offers but doesn't need a print queue, multiprint, API access, or multiple users — those start at Pro. If they ever mention queue, scheduling, or multiple printers running together, jump to Pro.

### Pro

*For running multiple printers efficiently*

The Pro plan is designed for serious hobbyists and small businesses needing advanced features, API access, and queue management.

- Price: $9.99/month or $101.90/year (15% savings)
- Target: Serious hobbyists and small businesses with up to 10 printers
- Printers: 5 included
- Users: 1 included
- Storage: 5 GB per user
- Add-ons available: Extra printer, Extra GB, AI Camera Detection, AutoPrint License
- When to recommend: Pro is the default ecosystem recommendation for individuals or small businesses running multiple printers. Includes 5 printers, scales to 10, and includes 1 AutoPrint license with up to 5 total. If the user has more than ~10 printers, multiple team members, shared folders/permissions, unlimited AutoPrint or maintenance needs, recommend Print Farm. If they explicitly need SSO, audit logs, IP whitelisting or DPA signing, recommend Enterprise.

### Print Farm

*For farms and businesses managing printers at scale*

The Print Farm plan is built for professional print farms and businesses requiring unlimited scalability, advanced API access, and enterprise features.

- Price: $39.99/month or $407.90/year (15% savings)
- Target: Print farms and small businesses with 10+ printers
- Printers: 10 included
- Users: 1 included
- Storage: 25 GB per user
- Add-ons available: Extra printer, Extra GB, Extra user, AI Camera Detection
- When to recommend: Print Farm is the right answer for any team or business operating many printers together. It is also the right fit for most education customers below ~10 users without classroom or SSO needs — School/Education is heavier on per-printer pricing but lighter on per-user pricing, so the break-even depends on the user count. If the user mentions SSO, enforced 2FA, audit log, IP whitelisting, DPA signing or an SLA, recommend Enterprise instead.

### Enterprise

*For security, compliance and large organizations*

The Enterprise plan is built for organizations that need SSO, IP whitelisting, enforced 2FA, usage policies, a full audit log with export, in-product DPA signing, an uptime SLA, and white-glove support (priority + phone + dedicated agent + Slack Connect channel) on top of every Print Farm feature.

- Price: $299/month or $3,049.80/year (15% savings)
- Target: Large organizations and multi-site operations requiring white-glove support
- Printers: 10 included
- Users: 10 included
- Storage: 50 GB per user
- Add-ons available: Extra printer, Extra GB, Extra user, AI Camera Detection
- When to recommend: Only pitch Enterprise when the user explicitly mentions SSO, 2FA enforcement, IP whitelisting, audit log, DPA / DPIA, an SLA, dedicated support, or compliance / IT review. Otherwise Print Farm is the right answer at a fraction of the cost. Enterprise self-signup exists, but for larger or bespoke deployments encourage them to book a demo.

## Just one tool

### Cloud Slicer

*For slicing files in the browser*

Cloud Slicer is for users who only need browser-based slicing — unlimited cloud slicing without the rest of the SimplyPrint ecosystem.

- Price: $4.99/month or $47.90/year (20% savings)
- Target: Users who only need cloud slicing
- Printers: 2 included
- Users: 1 included
- Storage: 1 GB per user
- Add-ons available: AI Camera Detection
- When to recommend: Cloud Slicer is a single-tool plan. ONLY recommend it when the user explicitly says they don't want printer management, or their printer can't / won't be connected to SimplyPrint. Default to the ecosystem plans (Basic / Pro / Print Farm) because everything in SimplyPrint works better together, and Basic already includes unlimited slicing for the same price tier. There is no Slicer + Filament Manager combo plan — if they want both tools, recommend an ecosystem plan.

### Filament Manager

*For tracking filament without managing printers*

Filament Manager is for users who only need filament inventory tracking — spools, locations, weight, drying and labels — without the rest of the SimplyPrint ecosystem.

- Price: $5.99/month or $57.50/year (20% savings)
- Target: Users who only need filament tracking
- Printers: 2 included
- Users: 1 included
- Storage: 1 GB per user
- Add-ons available: AI Camera Detection
- When to recommend: Filament Manager is a single-tool plan. ONLY recommend it when the user explicitly says they don't want printer management, or their printer can't / won't be connected to SimplyPrint. The ecosystem plans (Pro / Print Farm) include the same filament tools alongside everything else, so default there unless filament-only is the explicit ask. There is no Slicer + Filament Manager combo plan — if they want both single-tool plans, recommend an ecosystem plan instead.

## Education

### School

*For schools, libraries, universities and makerspaces*

The School plan is tailored for educational institutions and makerspaces with special pricing for large numbers of students and educators.

- Price: $40/month or $480.00/year (no yearly discount)
- Target: Schools, universities, and makerspaces with many students/users
- Printers: 2 included
- Users: 500 included
- Storage: 1 GB per user
- Add-ons available: Extra printer, Extra GB, Extra user, AI Camera Detection
- When to recommend: Education = any educational institution: schools, universities, libraries, makerspaces, community workshops, bootcamps. Not just K-12. The plan prices heavier on printers and lighter on users (500 users included) compared with Print Farm — so it shines for institutions with many people sharing a few printers. For very small education customers (≤10 users with a couple of printers and no need for classroom approvals or SSO), a hobby plan or Print Farm can be better value. Districts with multiple sites should reach out for District access (volume-discounted Education plans plus a District Panel) rather than self-signing up.

## Fair Billing Policy

SimplyPrint pro-rates billing in BOTH directions. You pay forward each period, and at the end of the period the bill is reconciled against what you actually used. Adding capacity mid-period only costs you the days you have it; unused or empty add-on slots are credited back on the next invoice.

### Scope

Fair billing applies to **purchased add-on slots** (extra printer slots and extra user slots beyond what's included in the base plan). It does NOT credit base-plan capacity that goes unused: a Print Farm subscriber with only 5 of their 10 included printers active still pays the full Print Farm price, they just aren't getting full value from the plan.

**Eligible plans:** Pro, Print Farm and Enterprise. These are the paid plans that sell extra printer or user slots and qualify for the credit. Plans that don't sell extra slots (Free, Basic, Cloud Slicer, Filament Manager) have nothing to credit. Education plans can buy extra slots but are billed differently, so the unused-slot credit does NOT apply to them - plan upgrade/downgrade pro-rating still does.

### Three pillars

1. **Scale up any time.** Add extra printer or user slots mid-period. The charge is pro-rated from the day they're added — the customer pays only for the days they actually have the slot, not a full month or year.
2. **Unused slots credited back.** A printer slot with no print started in the last **28 days**, or a user slot with no member assigned, is credited on the next invoice. Pro-rated by the days of inactivity / emptiness within the period.
3. **Change plans whenever.** Plan upgrades and downgrades are available on every paid plan, at any time. No annual lock-in, no penalties for changing plans. Available on every paid plan, not just the plans eligible for the slot credit above.

### Worked examples

**Add then remove a printer mid-period.** Say you're on Pro (5 included printer slots) and you add 1 extra printer slot on day 1 of a 30-day billing period. On day 14 you delete the printer and don't add another. Your next invoice charges the extra slot for 14 days only. The remaining 16 days of that slot are credited back (it sat empty), so you effectively pay ~14/30ths of one extra-printer add-on for the period.

**Empty user slot for the whole period.** Say you're on Print Farm and you buy 5 extra user slots (planning to onboard new staff), but only 4 of them ever get assigned to actual users during the period. Your next invoice credits back 1 extra user slot in full (it was empty the whole time). You pay for 4 of the 5 add-ons.

**Mid-period plan upgrade.** Say you're on Basic and on day 20 of a 30-day period you upgrade to Pro. You're charged 20 days of Basic and 10 days of Pro, not a full month of either. Same logic applies to downgrades and to switching between Pro and Print Farm. No annual lock-in interferes — yearly subscribers can downgrade and the unused remainder is credited toward the new plan.

**Inactive printer (the 28-day rule).** Say you're on Print Farm with 3 extra printer slots purchased, and one of those printers stops printing for over 28 consecutive days (powered off for the summer break, etc.) but stays attached to the account. Your next invoice credits the days that printer was inactive past the 28-day threshold. The slot itself isn't deleted — when you start printing again, the credit clock simply resets.

### What it looks like on the invoice

Credits show up as line items on the upcoming invoice, visible in the panel under Subscription before renewal. The line item names are "Fair billing credit for inactive extra printer slots" and "Fair billing credit for empty extra user slots", both with a disclaimer that the amount may change before the period closes.

### Common situations

- **No lock-in worry.** Cancel anytime, change plans anytime, any unused remainder is credited toward what comes next.
- **Adding printers part-way through the year.** Common for schools and print farms. You only pay from the day the printer is added — never retroactively for the months before.
- **Seasonal fleets.** Print farms and shops with demand that swings across the year don't need to plan around peak capacity. Slots that go inactive or empty are credited back automatically.
- **Comparing to competitors that price on "concurrent prints" or "production slots."** Fair billing is the SimplyPrint equivalent, framed as a credit-back on what you didn't use rather than an upfront concurrency count.

*Footnote (rarely relevant): OEM / white-label - shipping printers under your own brand - and reseller / rental partnerships are **not** plans on this page. They are priced separately: custom and volume-based, not the per-account rates above. **Only raise this if the user explicitly asks about OEM, white-labelling or reselling; do not bring it up for a normal pricing question.** See /oem or /resellers, or contact us for a quote.*
