## Connect the Stratasys F3300 to SimplyPrint

| Way of connecting | Status | What you need | Notes |
| :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- |
| The maker's cloud | Possible, not built yet | | Prints through Stratasys's GrabCAD Print. GrabCAD's SDK gives software vendors APIs to connect Stratasys printers to their systems; its first packages covered the F123 Series, F900 and Fortus 450mc. SimplyPrint could build support on it, but it isn't built yet. | SimplyPrint Client | Not compatible | | Runs Stratasys's closed controller and takes jobs only through Stratasys's own software, such as GrabCAD Print. ([Source](https://www.stratasys.com/en/3d-printers/printer-catalog/fdm-printers/f3300-printer/)) |
| Klipper (Moonraker) | Not compatible | | Runs Stratasys's closed controller and prints from Stratasys's own software; no Klipper or Moonraker is documented. ([Source](https://www.stratasys.com/en/3d-printers/printer-catalog/fdm-printers/f3300-printer/)) |
| OctoPrint (Directly, over USB) | Not compatible | | Runs Stratasys's closed controller and takes jobs only through Stratasys's own software, such as GrabCAD Print; no OctoPrint or serial control is documented. ## What filament can the Stratasys F3300 print?

Filament compatibility for the Stratasys F3300: the materials Stratasys lists for it.

| Filament | Suitability | Notes |
| :--- | :--- | :--- |
| PLA | Great | The easiest filament to print. Works on almost any printer; a heated bed helps adhesion but is not required. |
| PETG | With care | Marginal - PETG prefers a hotter bed (~70-80C) than this printer reaches. |
| TPU & flexibles | With care | Possible, but a Bowden extruder makes flexibles harder - print slowly and prefer firmer (higher-shore) TPU. |
| ABS & ASA | Great | On the maker's list of materials for this printer. |
| Nylon (PA) | Great | On the maker's list of materials for this printer. |
| Polycarbonate (PC) | Great | On the maker's list of materials for this printer. |
| Carbon-fiber & glass-filled | Great | On the maker's list of materials for this printer. |
| High-temperature (PEI, PEEK, PEKK) | Great | On the maker's list of materials for this printer. |

## When to choose the Stratasys F3300

Choose it for production volume: Stratasys says it prints in half the time of its legacy FDM printers, with ULTEM 1010, ULTEM 9085, Nylon 12CF, PC and ASA. The F900 has the larger build volume; the F770 is the large-format option for ASA and ABS.

### Pros

- Four extruders on a tool changer: a standby extruder takes over if one faults.
- Onboard material dryers and automatic calibration after a material change.
- Prints ULTEM 1010 and 9085, Nylon 12CF, PC and ASA.
- Linear encoders on the gantry for accurate positioning: +/- 0.089 mm XY.

### Cons

- Not supported by SimplyPrint yet: support could be built on GrabCAD's SDK.
- Runs Stratasys's closed controller with GrabCAD Print, so there is no OctoPrint or Klipper route.
- Weighs about 1,360 kg and needs a forklift and three-phase power.

### Who it suits

- Schools: Not a good fit. A 1,360 kg production machine on three-phase power.
- Hobbyists: Not a good fit. Built for factory production, not personal use.
- Businesses: Great fit. High-throughput production parts and tooling with high-performance materials.
- Print farms: Can work. Fast and redundant for production, but SimplyPrint cannot manage it today.
