- Max print speed: 300 mm/s
- Prints well: PLA, PETG
- Connectivity: Wi-Fi, USB

## Connect the MINGDA AD-F4 Pro to SimplyPrint

| Way of connecting | Status | What you need | Notes |
| :--- | :--- | :--- | :--- |
| SimplyPrint | Compatible | | Through Klipper (Moonraker) |
| Klipper (Moonraker) | Compatible | Nothing extra: the printer runs Klipper as it ships | Ships MINGDA's Klipper fork with KlipperScreen and Moonraker (MINGDA keeps a Moonraker fork on GitHub); the manual sends jobs over the LAN with OrcaSlicer's Octo/Klipper host type. No Mainsail/Fluidd or SSH access is documented. ([Source](https://shopsource.singoo.cc/354/file/CSAQ4he5jmk6cdeH/AD-F4ManualV2.1.pdf)) |
| OctoPrint (Directly, over USB) | Not compatible | | Ships Klipper; OctoPrint only runs on top of it. ([Source](https://shopsource.singoo.cc/354/file/CSAQ4he5jmk6cdeH/AD-F4ManualV2.1.pdf)); Ships with Klipper: OctoPrint only runs on top of it, through the OctoKlipper plugin |

### What works with SimplyPrint

Connected through Klipper (Moonraker), SimplyPrint supports most of what it offers on the MINGDA AD-F4 Pro: the camera and AI failure detection, remote printing, skipping objects, temperature and movement control and AutoPrint. Not yet in SimplyPrint through Klipper (Moonraker): download the file before the print starts.

## What slicer to use for the MINGDA AD-F4 Pro

None of the slicers in SimplyPrint's cloud has a ready-made profile for the MINGDA AD-F4 Pro, but it takes standard G-code: start from a similar printer's profile and set the bed size, height and nozzle to match.

## Automate the MINGDA AD-F4 Pro

### Ways to automate it

- [Your own ejection G-code](https://simplyprint.io/features/autoprint/custom): Write the routine that clears your plate, and AutoPrint runs it after every print.
- [A robot arm, or anything with an API](https://simplyprint.io/features/autoprint/api): Tell SimplyPrint the plate is clear through the API or a webhook, from a robot arm or your own system.
- [Clear it by hand, keep the queue](https://simplyprint.io/features/autoprint/manual-mode): AutoPrint waits for you to mark the plate clear, then starts the next job.

## What filament can the MINGDA AD-F4 Pro print?

Filament compatibility for the MINGDA AD-F4 Pro: the materials MINGDA lists for it.

| Filament | Suitability | Notes |
| :--- | :--- | :--- |
| PLA | Great | On the maker's list of materials for this printer. |
| PETG | Great | On the maker's list of materials for this printer. |
| TPU & flexibles | With care | Possible, but a Bowden extruder makes flexibles harder - print slowly and prefer firmer (higher-shore) TPU. |
| ABS & ASA | Not ideal | Not recommended - the bed cannot reach the ~90-110C ABS and ASA need. |
| Nylon (PA) | Not ideal | Not recommended - nylon needs a hotter hotend (~250-270C) and ideally an enclosure. |
| Polycarbonate (PC) | Not ideal | Not recommended - PC needs very high hotend temps and an enclosed chamber. |
| Carbon-fiber & glass-filled | With care | Possible if you fit a hardened or wear-resistant nozzle - the abrasive fibers quickly wear a stock brass nozzle. |

## When to choose the MINGDA AD-F4 Pro

Choose the AD-F4 Pro if you make illuminated signs and channel letters: Mingda built it around that job, with its own slicing software and a four-colour feeder. Mingda's example prints a light box in 8 hours at 200 mm/s against 40 hours on a typical letter printer, but it calls its own figures reference-only and we found no independent review. With only 100 mm of height it cannot print tall objects; for tall parts in one piece, the MD-600 Pro+ or MD-1000 Pro+ are the better pick, and the smaller AD-F4 Mini does the same signage job at 800 x 600 mm.

### Pros

- A 1200 x 800 mm flat build area, large enough for big signage letters in one piece (Mingda).
- Four-colour automatic feeding, so a sign can be printed in several colours in one job (Mingda).
- Up to 300 mm/s with input shaping and automatic levelling (Mingda).
- Remote control and monitoring, plus Mingda's own slicing software for turning fonts and vector files into letters (Mingda).
- Works with SimplyPrint through Klipper.

### Cons

- Only 100 mm of print height, so it is a shallow-part machine (Mingda).
- No enclosure is listed, and PLA and PETG are the only materials we hold for it.
- No camera is listed.
- We found no independent review, and Mingda's speed and time-saving figures are its own.

### Who it suits

- Schools: Not a good fit. A large signage machine with no enclosure listed; it is not built for classroom projects.
- Hobbyists: Not a good fit. Its 100 mm height and signage focus leave little for general hobby printing.
- Businesses: Good fit. Made for sign shops: big flat letters in several colours, controllable remotely and connected to SimplyPrint through Klipper.
- Print farms: Can work. Remote control and Klipper help, but no camera is listed and it has no plate-clearing kit in our sources.
