### Ways to automate it

- [Your own ejection G-code](https://simplyprint.io/features/autoprint/custom): Write the routine that clears your plate, and AutoPrint runs it after every print.
- [A robot arm, or anything with an API](https://simplyprint.io/features/autoprint/api): Tell SimplyPrint the plate is clear through the API or a webhook, from a robot arm or your own system.
- [Clear it by hand, keep the queue](https://simplyprint.io/features/autoprint/manual-mode): AutoPrint waits for you to mark the plate clear, then starts the next job.

## What filament can the MINGDA AD-F4 Mini print?

Filament compatibility for the MINGDA AD-F4 Mini: the materials MINGDA lists for it.

| Filament | Suitability | Notes |
| :--- | :--- | :--- |
| PLA | Great | On the maker's list of materials for this printer. |
| PETG | Great | On the maker's list of materials for this printer. |
| TPU & flexibles | With care | Possible, but a Bowden extruder makes flexibles harder - print slowly and prefer firmer (higher-shore) TPU. |
| ABS & ASA | With care | Borderline - the bed runs a little cool and an enclosure is essential for ABS and ASA. |
| Nylon (PA) | Not ideal | Not recommended - nylon needs a hotter hotend (~250-270C) and ideally an enclosure. |
| Polycarbonate (PC) | Not ideal | Not recommended - PC needs very high hotend temps and an enclosed chamber. |
| Carbon-fiber & glass-filled | With care | Possible if you fit a hardened or wear-resistant nozzle - the abrasive fibers quickly wear a stock brass nozzle. |

### Best filament for the MINGDA AD-F4 Mini

Filaments the MINGDA AD-F4 Mini prints well, MINGDA's own first, then the best known.

- [Bambu Lab PLA Matte](https://simplyprint.io/filaments/bambu-lab/pla-matte): PLA, 190-230 °C
- [SUNLU PLA](https://simplyprint.io/filaments/sunlu/pla): PLA, 200-240 °C
- [Anycubic PETG](https://simplyprint.io/filaments/anycubic/petg): PETG, 230-250 °C

## When to choose the MINGDA AD-F4 Mini

Choose the AD-F4 Mini for signage jobs that fit 800 x 600 mm and for the built-in camera and AI detection, which the AD-F4 Pro's page does not list. Its bed tops out at 80 °C and its hotend at 300 °C, so it is a PLA and PETG machine; Mingda's examples use AdPETG Tough and PLA. We found no independent review, and Mingda's own time comparison (10 hours against 50 on a typical letter printer) is labelled reference-only. For larger letters use the AD-F4 Pro; for tall parts, a machine with real height such as the MD-600 Pro+.

### Pros

- An 800 x 600 mm flat build area with four-colour automatic feeding (Mingda).
- A camera with AI detection of foreign objects and print defects, plus a mobile app for remote monitoring (Mingda).
- Up to 300 mm/s, input shaping, automatic levelling and power-loss recovery (Mingda).
- Wi-Fi, Ethernet and USB, and a sealed filament box to keep spools dry (Mingda).
- Runs Klipper, and is expected to work with SimplyPrint through Klipper (not yet confirmed).

### Cons

- Only 100 mm of print height, so it is a shallow-part machine (Mingda).
- An 80 °C bed and a 300 °C hotend limit it to PLA- and PETG-type materials, and no enclosure is listed.
- The default 0.6 mm nozzle gives coarse layers of 0.2 to 0.42 mm (Mingda).
- We found no independent review, and SimplyPrint compatibility is expected rather than confirmed.

### Who it suits

- Schools: Not a good fit. A signage machine with no enclosure listed and a 100 mm height; not suited to classroom projects.
- Hobbyists: Not a good fit. Too specialised for general hobby printing.
- Businesses: Good fit. A smaller, cheaper way into colour channel letters, with a camera and AI detection, expected to work with SimplyPrint through Klipper.
- Print farms: Can work. Camera, remote control and Ethernet suit running several, but it is unproven and has no plate-clearing kit in our sources.
