## What slicer to use for the Makertech 3D ProForge 5

None of the slicers in SimplyPrint's cloud has a ready-made profile for the Makertech 3D ProForge 5, but it takes standard G-code: start from a similar printer's profile and set the bed size, height and nozzle to match.

## The app for the Makertech 3D ProForge 5

Makertech 3D doesn't make an app for the Makertech 3D ProForge 5. SimplyPrint works as its app: on your phone and in any browser, with a slicer in the cloud.

- An app for iPhone and Android, the same in any browser, and a slicer in the cloud.
- More than monitoring: a print queue, AI failure detection, AutoPrint and accounts for a team.
- Printers from many brands in one place, side by side.
- Hosted in Frankfurt, Germany, under the GDPR.

## Automate the Makertech 3D ProForge 5

**CoreXY printers push their prints off.** The Makertech 3D ProForge 5's bed only moves up and down, so the usual way to automate it is a G-code routine that lets the toolhead push the cooled print off the front of the plate before the next job starts.

### Ways to automate it

- [Push prints off with the toolhead](https://simplyprint.io/features/autoprint/push-off): On a CoreXY printer, a G-code routine can push the cooled print off the front of the plate before the next job starts.
- [Your own ejection G-code](https://simplyprint.io/features/autoprint/custom): Write the routine that clears your plate, and AutoPrint runs it after every print.
- [A robot arm, or anything with an API](https://simplyprint.io/features/autoprint/api): Tell SimplyPrint the plate is clear through the API or a webhook, from a robot arm or your own system.
- [Clear it by hand, keep the queue](https://simplyprint.io/features/autoprint/manual-mode): AutoPrint waits for you to mark the plate clear, then starts the next job.

## What filament can the Makertech 3D ProForge 5 print?

Filament compatibility for the Makertech 3D ProForge 5: the materials Makertech 3D lists for it.

| Filament | Suitability | Notes |
| :--- | :--- | :--- |
| PLA | Great | On the maker's list of materials for this printer. |

| TPU & flexibles | Great | On the maker's list of materials for this printer. |

| Nylon (PA) | Good | Doable with care - dry the filament thoroughly, and an enclosure helps a lot. |
| Polycarbonate (PC) | Good | In range for PC. Dry the filament, print slowly, and use an enclosure for the best results. |
| Carbon-fiber & glass-filled | With care | Possible if you fit a hardened or wear-resistant nozzle - the abrasive fibers quickly wear a stock brass nozzle. |

## When to choose the Makertech 3D ProForge 5

Choose the ProForge 5 when you want a large Klipper toolchanger that SimplyPrint can connect to through Klipper, and you are comfortable with a semi-assembled kit. Makertech lists it from 1,748 GBP, with the ULTRA kit at 2,599 GBP including five print heads, an enclosure and five DryBoxes, and dispatch on 2 November 2026. We found no independent review and the maker page lists few specs. If you want something ready to run, an enclosed Bambu Lab H2D or Prusa Core One is less work, but neither has this plate size.

### Pros

- Large 500 x 400 x 500 mm plate on a CoreXY frame (our facts).
- Runs Klipper, so it works with SimplyPrint through Klipper.
- Toolchanger design: the ULTRA kit includes all five print heads, and extra heads cost 149 GBP each (Makertech).
- Spare parts and upgrades are sold individually, including nozzles, flexplates and heater cores (Makertech).
- Business, makerspace and education bulk pricing, and factory-assembled units, are available on request (Makertech).

### Cons

- Sold semi-assembled: the electronics box, print heads and bed come pre-assembled, but the rest is yours to build (Makertech).
- The enclosure is a 299 GBP add-on, so by default it is open or partly open and ABS or ASA need it.
- The maker page gives almost no technical specs or camera details, and no independent review was found.
- Needs Klipper tuning and kit-level support, which is more work than a ready-made printer.

### Who it suits

- Schools: Not a good fit. A semi-assembled, tuning-heavy machine with exposed tool heads is not what a classroom needs, even though SimplyPrint can queue prints for approval.
- Hobbyists: Good fit. A big Klipper toolchanger with modular parts is a rewarding project, if you accept the assembly and tuning.
- Businesses: Can work. Size and multi-tool printing help, but kit assembly and the lack of independent reviews make it a risk for dependable output.
- Print farms: Not a good fit. SimplyPrint can manage it through Klipper, but a tuned kit with no track record is a weak base for many machines running unattended.
